Quantum entanglement is not about “spooky vibes” or “spiritual energy” floating in the air. It is a cold, mathematical departure from the way we think the world works. In a classical world, if you have two objects, you have two separate stories. But in an entangled system, the story of the whole cannot be broken down into the sum of its parts. You are no longer looking at a “product” of two systems; you are looking at a single, unified quantum state.
We often think of our lives like two people sharing a Wi-Fi password—a “common cause” or a “shared history” that makes us act similarly. This is what physicists call local hidden variables: the idea that each part carries its own internal set of instructions. But Bell’s inequalities, repeatedly violated in experiments, tell us a harsher truth: there are no hidden local instructions. Our “measurement outcomes”—the fruit we bear, the choices we make—are not generated by a private, independent engine within us. This is the quantum reality of the Vine and the Branches.
When Christ said, “I am the vine, you are the branches,” He was describing a Non-separable System. A branch is not a “correlated” entity that happens to hang near the vine. It is entangled. Apart from the vine, the branch doesn’t just “lose its connection”; it loses its status as a quantum system. It becomes decohered, falling back into the dull, dying world of classical separability.
We do not carry a “local hidden variable” of life within ourselves. Our “measurement statistics”—the evidence of our existence—only make sense when compared against the state of the Vine. Just as entanglement doesn’t allow for faster-than-light messaging but creates a pattern that transcends space, our union with the Divine isn’t a “magic trick” to get what we want instantly. It is a structural reality. We are part of a joint structure that the world’s logic cannot capture.
You are not an isolated individual trying to “sync up” with God. You are an entangled participant in the Life of the Vine. Your state is defined by His state. In this magnificent entanglement, the distance between the Creator and the created is not bridged by a signal; it is dissolved by the fact that you were never intended to be “separable” in the first place.
